Fall 2011

This winter we will be traveling in South America. We leave Anchorage on Oct 31st, and fly into Quito, Ecuador. Our first week will be spent at a language school in Quito, and from there we plan to head south...  The big things we want to see are: Macchu Picchu, the Amazon river, the Andes, and maybe a few beaches. We will be carrying a Lonely Planet guidebook and little else. Our plan is to use the local buses, see the sights, and enjoy ourselves until January 26th, when we have tickets to fly home out of Santiago, Chile. As the crow flies, Santiago is 2346 miles South of Quito.
