We are soaking up our last few weeks in Australia, preparing ourselves for flying back into AK in the middle of winter...
Last week we were working with another WWOOF host, a small farm producing organic olives, olive oil, and beef. The temps were steadily rising during the week and the day we left it was a miserable 111F. While we were there Tyrell fed the cattle with an old tractor, we learned how to sort olives and bottle oil, and we pruned lots of olive trees.
This is the truck that used to launch an abalone fishing boat back before he bought a farm.
Tyrell doing the morning feeding. He sets the bales down uphill and then they unravel as they roll.
A great idea! Playland in the water, complete with an iceberg.
Enjoying a morning Mocha.
No big plans for our last days, yet. We thought about heading up North for some more diving but we've been deterred by the heat and the thought of more long days in the car. Now we are only about two hrs from Perth, which is where we fly out of. We will probably spend at least the last week there exploring and trying to sell our car. For now our days are full of lovely warm water and hot sand.
We went on a cool big tree walk, was nice to be in the forest again.
Blueberries! We found this u-pick berry farm and it was amazing. So juicy and delicious.
